Chloe's school had their annual fundraiser, and it was so much fun. This is our first year at this school, and I was excited to be a part of the planning.
The basic objective was to walk as many laps as you can in 30 minutes (45 minutes for the older kids) and get pledges per lap for your school. In addition to walking, there was a DJ, and a pumpkin patch for the kids to enjoy. K was there to walk with Chloe, and I was there to help her teachers get the kids ready for the walk.
Here is Chloe before we left for school on Bear Tracks day! YES....she has more outfits than this one, but this was only the second time she had worn it. If you remember the NICU Reunion and Smiley Hollow were on the same days. I hesitated to post this on the blog because it is going to be 3 posts in a row with this outfit on.....yes, I am embarrased!!! Anyway....here she is!
She was so excited because her daddy and "Boomer the Bear", the mascot, were both going to be at the event!
Here she is with her friend Addison waiting to begin walking.
READY....SET.....GO!
Shortly after she started walking, she discovered the trick to getting more laps in!
She got her card marked every time she finished another lap!
She then decided to pick up the pace so that no one would beat her. This was a race for the most laps in her mind! The more laps equals more money!
She did decide to stop and take a picture with Boomer for me in the middle of one of her laps. I appreciated this!
She was showing me how many more laps she had left! The DJ was announcing it on the speaker.
I am not trying to brag, but Chloe did more laps than everyone in her class. She did 18 laps. Yes, some would say it is because her daddy carried her for 2 laps, but I would say it is determination. She's gonna do whatever she has to do to win....and if that means getting a piggy back ride, so be it! Just kidding...all the kids did great.
After the walk-a-thon, it was time to head to the pumpkin patch. Mrs. Oldfield had the kids sit on the sidewalk so she could collect their cards and we could count their laps. Here she is with her other friend Meredith.
And they wait anxiously to enter the pumpkin patch!
She picked out the perfect pumpkin!
It was a successful fundraiser for her school, and we look forward to Bear Tracks next year!
