Tomorrow my sweet princess turns 18 months old, also known as 1 1/2. I am just going to continue to say 18 months because it makes me feel like she is younger, and still a baby. I cannot believe that it has been 2 years since I was pregnant with her and vomiting in the toilet 237 times a day, and hooked up to an IV for 12 hours a day.......but every second was worth it. And guess what? Everyone said that I would forget about the pregnancy misery.......NOT SO MUCH!! I will remember until the day I die every awful detail of it, but I will never deny how awesome the outcome of that misery was!
Because I am a bad mom, her 18 month check up is not until mid September. Actually, I KNOW I scheduled it, but the pediatrician does not have it in his calendar. I do find it a bit convenient that the same month they are switching computer systems, Chloe's appointment gets lost in space, but I am not bitter. Because she was sick last week I do know that she is 25 pounds exactly. I am not sure of her length, but I do know that she is not exactly tall. She is stocky! And I love it!
So I am going to type a little letter to Chloe, and YES I know that she cannot read. However, I am very optimistic that when she gets older, she is going to want to go back and read every single post that I ever wrote on this blog. Because we are best friends, and that is what best friends do!
Baby Girl,
These past 18 months have been so much fun with you. I never realized how much love I would feel for you, but your daddy and I love you more than anything in this world. You are the apple of our eye, and I know that God has big, amazing plans for you. Your daddy and I pray for you every single day. We pray for your safety, your health, and most of all we pray that you will grow up to know and love Him.
I am beginning to realize that no matter how hard I try, there is nothing that I can do to keep you from getting to be a big girl. Every day you get bigger, and every day you learn new things. Daddy and I have so much fun with you every single day, that we do not want our days to end. You are definitely developing an attitude now, and as mad as it makes me sometimes, you will always do something to make me laugh, and then all is forgotten.
Your favorite things right now are Dora, your baby dolls, your doggies, your ball popper, and minnie mouse. You love to brush your teeth every morning, and every night. You get so excited and smile at yourself in the mirror when you are finished. Words that you say over and over again are "Momma", "DaDa", "Ball", "Doda" (Dora), "Do" (dog). You talk non-stop, we just wish that we could understand everything you say. Your favorite songs to sing are "This Little Light of Mine", and "If you're Happy and you know it Clap your Hands". You are beginning to comprehend so many things. You know how to pick up your toys, and give hugs and kisses. You know when you are tired to walk to the steps and say "Night Night."
You are such a sweet baby, and everyone tells us how happy you are. I hope that you stay happy. You have changed our lives in so many ways, and I could not be more thankful that you are a part of our family.
We love you!
Mommy and Daddy
**And just for fun......here she is last August!
