NICU Reunion 2010

A True Blessing!



That is just a reminder of what we were celebrating this year at the Centennial NICU Reunion 2010.


This years theme was "Aladdin". If you can remember last year, the theme was "Wizard of Oz."

After checking in, and getting her back pack, we headed over to the "March of Dimes" table. At this table, Chloe put her handprint on a sheet of paper, and we wrote her story down next to her hand. This will be framed, and given as a gift to donors to the "March of Dimes Foundation." I hope that whomever gets Chloe's handprint will know how truly special she is in our lives.



Then we moved on to the "Play-Doh" table. Chloe loved this. I am pretty sure that there was not one "Play-Doh" accessory that was not on this table for the kids to play with. She had a blast!



When we were leaving that area, guess who we ran in to?



I know, scary. He is not quite the Genie that I remember! Chloe was a bit skeptical too.

After the run-in with Genie, we headed to do another handprint on a canvas tile. Chloe picked out orange because it matched her dress. How much do I love that she wants to match!!






When she was finished there, we headed to a couple of photo opportunities! Not with freaky Genie!





There was a magician next to us that had a bunny and a bird that Chloe got a kick out of. I did not think that she would want to touch them, but I was wrong!




Then we stood in line for a LONG time waiting for This Guy.....



Chloe ended up with a Princess Jasmine balloon, after changing her ming approximately 274 times while we were in line. Yes, we were in line THAT LONG! But she was happy, so I was happy!



How convenient that we happened to run into Jasmine and Aladdin on our way out! Again, not the Jasmine and Aladdin that I remember. And Chloe said the same thing. Remember, we had just gotten back from Disneyworld!



We could not have left the NICU reunion without taking a picture with Raja!



I am so happy that we ran into Angela, one of Chloe's NICU nurses. We saw her last year too. Look how much Chloe has grown since last year!




We are very thankful for the Centennial NICU, and Angela!

Generation Celebration 2010

Have I mentioned how much I love Chloe's school? If not, I LOVE her school. Each year they put on a "Generation Celebration" and each grade in the lower school sings songs from a different decade. Chloe's grade sang songs from the 1920's.




The songs that K3 sang were "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", "School Days", and "Grand Ole Flag".

We were told to bring her to school dressed in blue jeans and a baseball hat. The school was going to provide a shirt for the kids to wear. Little did I know that the shirt was going to be red! Chloe was all decked out in her skinny jeans, her Uggs, and a pink camo "Buck" hat. I wrote about this "Buck" hat in a previous post. Needless to say, she looked ADORABLE, until the teacher handed her the red shirt that clashed with her pink hat.




Chloe was Front Row, Center! I wouldn't expect anything less, BUT it would have been nice if the music teacher would have moved the music stand, it kind of got in the way!

I look forward to many more "Generation Celebrations" with my baby girl!

Chloe's 4th Disneyworld Trip!

I will definitely be posting more in depth day-by-day posts, but for now, here is a slideshow of our fun family vacation!

Lake Chloe

Well...we took Chloe out to her lake that PawPaw is digging for her. She loved it. She would have stayed all day if she could have. Here she is with PawPaw moving some rocks around to make a stone entrance. She learned how to work the Bobcat, and had a blast!




Then K and Chloe went to sit on the big pile of rocks which will some say be her stone entrance!


If you are wondering where in the world I am talking about, it is some land in Gallatin that will be our future home. I don't know when, but one day we are planning on building our home right in front of "Lake Chloe" on this beautiful 13 acres. Here is the "Lake" now. It covers about 1 acre of the property.



And here is the waterfall at the top of the Lake.



Here are some pictures of Chloe just playing, and having a ball. I think she will love it out here one day. For now, it is a great place to come and play.




And then her and K went hand in hand around her Lake to see the waterfall up close. I told K that this would be a perfect running track for me. If I ever decide to run....which I will. I have to. And being out running where nobody can see me jiggle is more appealing than running with a bunch of others at the gym.

Chloe found some big rocks that she thought looked like animals. She said there was a turtle rock, elephant rock, dinosaur rock, and a crocodile rock. Here she is sitting on the elephant rock...and NO, you cannot see what it looks like!



Before we left Chloe wanted to go to the middle of her Lake to spend some alone time with her puppy. Here she is just thinking.....



She must have been thinking of all the fun she is going to have out here this Fall!

Hat's Off to Davidson Academy!

Well...the school year has started off with a bang! K and I have been so pleased with Davidson Academy, and all of the things that Chloe has learned.

Dor example, after the first full week of school Chloe came home with a picture she had colored of Adam and Eve. I said, "Chloe, what is this?" And she was a serious as she could have been and said, "OH MOM....I need to tell you about a man named Adam, and a woman named Eve." I was SO impressed, and she went on and told me the story. I just never knew what a blessing sending her to that school would be, but it has better than anything that we could have dreamed of.

Anyway, this week Chloe had HAT DAY. And it did not take her long to decide that she was going to wear her "Buck Hat." She calls it her Buck Hat because if you watch "The United States of Tara" there is a character named "Buck" that would wear a similar hat. Anyway....if you watch that show, please know that WE DO NOT let Chloe watch it, but she heard us call her Buck one day when she had it on, and that is where the hat got its name.

So...she wore her "Buck Hat" and I should say that she looked WAY cuter than Buck. She wanted to take pictures, as always. Here is a picture of her ready to go to "Davidson Academy High School", as she calls it.



And when I picked her up from school, she was still proudly sporting her "Buck Hat!"

Happy 30th Kenny!

K is an old man now! Not really, but since I am still a young, vibrant, twentysomething I am just giving him a hard time. Guess who came to visit him on his birthday?


Chloe thought that it would be a "Great" idea to dress up like a princess on her daddy's birthday. As opposed to any other day when she dresses like a princess. I am not even going to tell you how many days a week she wears this dress at home. Okay, I will. Seven. Yep, seven. And sometimes she will change things up a bit, and wear a purple dress that she calls her "Jasmine Dress", but she always goes back to "Ole Faithful". Cinderella!

Before we left, Cinderella thought that it would be appropriate to take this picture of me.


Apparently it wasn't just her first day of school I looked large. Something has happened to my whole body, and I am just gonna call it unemployment!

Anyway, back to the Birthday. He turned 30. We did nothing. Pretty low-key day, and it was nice. That night we went out to dinner. It was raining so K dropped us off at the front door, and Chloe ran right in and wanted to pose for pictures! Funny Girl. So I took some of her!


Then K got it on the fun!

We ate then the cake came. Not just any cake. K specifically requested a Cotton Candy ice cream cake from Maggie Moo's. He got it. Everyone ate it but me. I am just not a huge fan of SUPER SWEET cotton candy like flavors, but he sure it!


Thank Goodness he had a helper to blow out the candles!


And it looks like she liked the blue cake too!

First Day of School!

Chloe started Pre-K this year and she is so excited. I thought that this may be an adjustment for her because she was starting some place new, and she was going to have to make new friends and meet new teachers.

I was wrong. She loves it. She loves everything about her new school. She loves her teachers most of all. She was SO excited to go that I had no problem getting her up and out the door in record time! Before we left for her first day of school she wanted to pose for some pictures outside!
